During mid-February 2010, ILD President, Hernando de Soto visited India to participate in a day-long session on inclusiveness, hosted by the Federation of Indian Chambers of Commerce and Industry (FICCI).

Alongside, he met Prime Minister Manmohan Singh, senior government officials and politicians such as Congress General Secretary Rahul Gandhi. The government will be consulting him to fine-tune its strategy to make the economy more inclusive.
