Legal Empowerment is starting on a new work phase after a successful Third Commission meeting in New York.
Dozens of commissioners and board of adviser members arrived from around the world to review the progress to date and decide on and endorse the work plan for 2007.

During this meeting, Mr. de Soto spent two days discussing the National Consultation Processes in Brazil, Indonesia, and East Africa.
The Legal Empowerment Secretariat is now planning field visits and other activities in the Middle East, Central America, South Asia, and West and Southern Africa.
