In early 2006, a team of ILD researchers and their local counterparts executed a "Preliminary Diagnosis" in each of 12 countries in Latin American and the Caribbean to get a snapshot of the size and practices of their extralegal economies. ILD President Hernando de Soto presented the results to the IDB in June 2006. You can access those results as well as their presentation here in several versions:
